DAILY DIFFERENCE DEVOTION 07/26/2010

Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? [shall] tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 8:35-39)

“REAL RELIGION: Following the Persecution Example part 3”

It was told to me a couple of days ago, “Follow the leading of Jesus Christ from my heart!” I agree totally with that. There is a cost to that; there is a point in which following Jesus Christ brings about something we don’t like to hear: persecution or standing alone. America has been pretty much free from this but times now are indicating Christians here in the United States are going to need to stand alone for Christ soon. This is not a prophecy; this is something the bible clearly teaches to those following the Lord Jesus Christ. Listen:

The wicked in [his] pride doth persecute the poor: let them be taken in the devices that they have imagined. (Psalms 10:2)

All thy commandments [are] faithful: they persecute me wrongfully; help thou me. (Psalms 119:86)

But he shall receive an hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life. (Mark 10:30)

Blessed are ye, when men shall hate you, and when they shall separate you [from their company], and shall reproach [you], and cast out your name as evil, for the Son of man’s sake. (Luke 6:22)

But before all these, they shall lay their hands on you, and persecute [you], delivering [you] up to the synagogues, and into prisons, being brought before kings and rulers for my name’s sake. (Luke 21:12)

Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also. (John 15:20)

Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution. (2 Timothy 3:12)

Why say all this? I say this because there is a cost for following Jesus Christ. You will lose friends, family, and even people closet to your heart; all for the glory of Jesus Christ. Many times, we may be prone to think serving Jesus Christ will bring us praise and glory; yet the scriptures warn about this (Luke 6:26). Paul saw as well preaching Christ brought physical persecution (Galatians 5:11). Following Jesus Christ costs: there is absolutely no way around this.

Yet, my friends, this is the glory you have in Jesus Christ. Follow Jesus Christ with all your heart, follow the bible as well. Be aware when this is done, there will come a point persecution and standing alone will encompass your life. Know from this there is deliverance (Daniel 3:28); and FOLLOW CHRIST.
